A classic in its own rite, DYD put forth\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/bobbyriotraining.com\/advice\/banter-lines-to-use-on-girls\/\">cocky and funny<\/a> (CnF) paradigm\u00a0that became the blessing and curse of the last decade.<\/p>\n<p>For the three people reading who are unfamiliar with CnF, David D advocates making offhanded cocky remarks that a woman can\u2019t help but find hilarious.<\/p>\n<p>Often the humorous subtext of CnF is that the guy is \u201ccooler\u201d than the girl, and, as such, he should <a href=\"https:\/\/bobbyriotraining.com\/advice\/sexual-teasing\/\">\u201ctease\u201d her<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, Cocky and Funny means treating a woman you want to sleep with as if she were your \u201cbratty little sister.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s my problem with Cocky and Funny: I don\u2019t want to sleep with my bratty little sister.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, teasing in such a contrived manner always felt alien to me.<\/p>\n<p>I mean, I understand the funny half. I even understand the cocky half. But the two together just never seemed to jive.<\/p>\n<p>I never understood why guys thought antagonizing girls they were obviously attracted to was helpful. And if I don\u2019t understand it, you can bet the girls don\u2019t understand, either.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I find\u00a0flirting by making comments that bring me\u00a0<em>closer<\/em>\u00a0to the girl\u00a0is more natural, plus it makes more sense to her.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s face it: she knows why you\u2019re talking to her, dudes.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not some big shocker that you\u2019re attracted to her. I don\u2019t care what your pickup books and DVDs told you, you\u2019re not flying stealth or going under the radar. The only guys who can do that are gay guys\u2026because they\u2019re gay.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, here\u2019s a snippet from a\u00a0text message I convo I (literally) just had where I used Cocky and Funny to express my interest.<\/p>\n<h2>Examples of Cocky and Funny Over Text<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Rob<\/strong>: no, because it\u2019s not like we\u2019re going to seriously date<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rob<\/strong>: I know you playerette<\/p>\n<p><strong>Babe<\/strong>: im not lol<\/p>\n<p><strong>Babe<\/strong>: i want to settle down<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rob:<\/strong> sow your wild oats first hun<\/p>\n<p><strong>Babe:<\/strong> and why would u not seriously date me?
