Being that I am by far the most normal of the pickup instructors I set out to understand how I was able to ask questions and not get a bad response early on.<\/p>\n<p>Turns out questions are not the worst thing in the world even during the beginning of a conversation, instead what really dooms guys when asking questions is the follow-up.<\/p>\n<h3>Most guys ask questions like this:<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Guy:<\/strong> Where are you from?<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Girl<\/strong>: San Diego<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Guy<\/strong>: Cool, what do you do there?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Most guys (especially on bootcamps) follow up questions with a ratifier (agreeing that what the girl said is cool or acceptable) followed by asking another question.<\/p>\n<p>This is BORING, and doesn\u2019t demonstrate anything interesting or attractive about you.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing inherently boring about the question. But the way it\u2019s followed up, makes me want to stab the fictional guy in the jaw.<\/p>\n<h3>The ONLY 3 Reasons to Ask a Girl a Question<\/h3>\n<p>Instead you want to use questions early on to either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tease her<\/li>\n<li>Transition to a new <a href=\"https:\/\/bobbyriotraining.com\/advice\/best-conversation-topics-dating\/\">conversational topic<\/a><\/li>\n<li>or to relate and play up a commonality between you and the girl.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at each of these:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use a Question to Tease Her<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><strong>Guy<\/strong>: Where are you from?<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Girl:<\/strong> San Diego<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Guy<\/strong>: Uh oh SD girls love to party, mental note do not date this girl.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions to Transition Topics<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><strong>Guy:<\/strong> Where are you from?<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Girl:<\/strong> San Diego<\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>Guy:<\/strong> Oh I love San Diego I usually go down there to do a little surfing.
